Hills Like White Elephants

This story is far from being a fairy tale for Jig. Jig, a girl who always wanted to have a steady home and a baby was being manipulated by her man. The American made the decision that Jig would not have the baby probably because he felt a little jealous or he didn't want to share his woman with the baby. I think Jig's self esteem was very low. It was apparent that she thought she could not find another man that really appreciated her and loved her the way she deserves.

A Worn Path

I believe Phoenix is a strong woman. She's not scare of anything but refuses to let other people see her suffer. Phoenix probably had a delusion or a dream the day she went to get medicine for her grandson. Upon seeing the nurse, Phoenix realized that she was dreaming and had traveled through the forest for nothing. She could not accept or understand why her grandson was dead. Phoenix seemed to feel lonely after his death which could be one of the reasons why she had memory loss.
